퍼플러즈가 [Sindy]의 뒤를 이어 또 다른 컨셉의 싱글을 발표했다. 데뷔 후 고작 3개월 만에 3번째 싱글이란 것도 놀라운 일이지만 그들의 끊임없는 장르 탐험 정신과 매번 그 장르의 진수를 드러내보이는 것도 예사롭지가 않다.

새로운 싱글 [Funkasized]는 훵크 음악의 가장 근원적이고 본질적인 형태를 벗어나지 않으면서도 재치있는 사운드와 세련된 그루브를 놓치지 않는다. 아티스트가 스펙트럼의 벽을 허물고 다음 단계로 나가는 것은 잠재력 이상의 능력을 발휘해야 하는 일이지만 그들에겐 너무나도 쉬운 일처럼 보인다. 마치 그들을 애워싼 틀은 없다는 듯이 자신들의 ‘Funk DNA’를 상당히 영리하게 표출시킨 [Funkasized]는 이제껏 과거에서는 전혀 듣지 못했던, ‘Future funk’라는 단어 그대로를 단번에 이해시켜주는 곡이다.
