마이클 잭슨을 위한 다섯 번째 특급 글로벌 컬래버레이션, 'Man In the Mirror'!

SM STATION의 스물 두 번째 주인공은 'Stanley Clarke X Myron Mckinley Trio'

스물 두 번째 스테이션은 8월 29일 탄생 59주년을 맞는 마이클 잭슨을 기리는 의미로, 재즈 거장인 Stanley Clarke(스탠리 클락)와 Myron Mckinley(마일론 매킨리) Trio가 마이클잭슨의 명곡 'Man In the Mirror'를 재즈로 재편곡 하였다. 'Man In the Mirror'는 1987년 발매된 마이클 잭슨의 싱글로, 30년이 지난 현재까지 많은 사랑을 받고 있다. “변화를 만들기 위해서는 나부터 변화해야 한다”라는 원곡의 메시지가 현재에도 큰 가치를 담고 있어 헌정의 의미가 깊다. 

Stanley Clarke은 Return To Forever의 멤버로도 활동한 미국 출신의 유명 베이시스트 겸 프로듀서로, 2011년 제 53회 그래미 어워즈에서 앨범 'The Stanley Clarke Band'로 'Best Contemporary Jazz Album' 부문을 수상한 재즈 밴드 Stanley Clarke Band를 이끌고 있다. 지난 4월 'STATION'을 통해 공개한 'To Be Alive (Feat. Chris Clarke) (Live)' 역시 좋은 반응을 얻은 바 있다.

더불어 Myron Mckinley Trio는 Whitney Houston, Stevie Wonder 등 유명 팝스타들의 키보드 연주자이자 작곡가, 프로듀서 등 다방면에서 활약하고 있는 팀의 수장 Myron Mckinley, 베이시스트 Ian Martin, 드러머 Stacey Lamont Sydnor로 구성된 팀이다. 지난 6월 'STATION'에서 공개한 'E-12 (Live)'로 글로벌 팬들의 시선을 사로잡은 만큼, 세계적인 재즈 거장들의 만남으로 재 탄생한 'Man In the Mirror'에 이목이 집중될 것으로 기대된다.
