HIPPO ＋ POTAMIC = hippo/Po·tam·!c
2020년, single [Sunday]와 [VACATION]으로 세상에 발을 내디딘 Hippo가 5인조 밴드 HippoPotamic으로 새롭게 등장했다.

수년간 매일같이 작업실에 모여 동고동락한 다섯 명의 멤버들은 작곡과 편곡, 프로듀싱까지 모두 다루는 단단한 팀이 되었다. single [Maybe]의 뮤직비디오에서는 각자의 캐릭터를 보여주는 동물 탈과 유머러스한 연출로 그들의 개성을 톡톡히 보여주기도 하였다.

총 5곡으로 구성된 EP [Emoji]는 보컬이자 기타리스트 Hippo, 기타리스트 Namm, 베이시스트 Con, 키보디스트 Otter, 드러머 2ehoz가 밴드로서 처음으로 선보이는 앨범이다. 굳이 말하지 않고도 감정을 표현할 수 있는 이모티콘처럼, 다섯 곡은 사랑과 위로, 답답한 마음과 같은 수많은 감정을 HippoPotamic 특유의 다채로운 사운드와 솔직한 가사로 표현한다.

밴드의 음악뿐만 아니라 힙합, R&B 등의 다양한 장르에서 세션과 프로듀서로 활약하고 있는 팀 HippoPotamic의 행보를 기대하며, 그들의 실력과 개성을 보여주는 앨범 [Emoji]에 많은 관심을 보내길 바란다.
