김호두-Friends

이번 앨범 ‘Brother’에서는 그의 다양한 음악적 스펙트럼이 엿보인다. 우선 타이틀곡인 'Friends'는 영어로 쓰인 노래라는 점이 가장 인상적이다. 미국 드라마 Friends를 소재로 썼다고 하는 이 곡에서는 첫 번째 앨범에서는 없었던 쓸쓸한 보이스와 은유적인 가사들이 듣는 이로 하여금 김호두라는 아티스트에 대해 궁금하게 만든다.

두 번째 삽입곡인 ‘별로 가는 길’에서는 타이틀보다는 조금 더 대담하게 그가 자신의 이야기를 전하고 있다. 하지만 그 역시도 담담하게 서술할 뿐, 감정이 과잉되거나 말이 길지가 않다. 뜻은 명확하게 전달하지만 최소한의 말과 감정으로 자신의 이야기를 들려주고자 하고 있을 뿐이다.

김호두는 첫 번째 미니앨범에서 밝고 경쾌하게 ‘꽉 찬 말’을 고백했었다. 그는 이번에도 분명 꽉 찬 말로 자신의 마음을 전했을 것이다. 하지만 전체적인 분위기가 첫 번째 미니앨범과 완전히 상반된 이번 두 번째 미니앨범은 김호두의 이후 음악들을 더 궁금하게, 그리고 기다리게 만든다.
