미국 오하이오주 신시내티에서 결성된 4인조 록 밴드 Walk The Moon은 2010년 11월, 앨범 [i want! i want!]을 독자 발매해 활동하기 시작해 2011년 RCA 레코드와 계약해 이듬해 6월 첫 앨범의 수록 곡과 신곡 다섯 트랙을 추가한 정식 데뷔 앨범 [Walk The Moon]을 공개하며 본격적인 커리어를 쌓기 시작했다.

 

2014년 12월 두 번째 스튜디오 앨범 [Talking Is Hard]를 발매, 수록곡 'Shut Up and Dance'가 빌보드 앨범 차트 4위, 얼터너티브 차트 1위를 기록했고, 폴란드, 호주, 캐나다 등 전 세계 여러 나라 차트의 10위권 안에 오르며 크게 히트했다.

또한 국내에서도 여러 TV 프로그램과 광고에 삽입되며 신나는 비트와 함께 친근한 음악으로 사랑받았다. 그룹은 2017년 세 번째 정규작 [What If Nothing]을 발매해 타이틀곡 'Surrender'를 비롯해 'One Foot', 'Kamikaze' 등으로 주목받았으며, 월드 투어와 함께 팬들과의 만남을 이어갔다.
