일렉트로니카 소울 듀오 그룹 HONNE는 특별한 프로모션이나 홍보 없이 입소문으로 전 세계 음악인들의 주목과 사랑을 받고 있는 그룹이다.

 

메인 보컬인 Andy Clutterbuck과 신시사이저를 담당하는 James Hatcher는 같은 대학교 학생으로 만나 그룹을 결성했는데 그룹명 HONNE는 "사람 내면의 숨겨진 마음"을 뜻하는 일본어 "혼네"에서 따왔다.

2014년 9월 데뷔 싱글 'Warm On A Cold Night’을 발매, 리스너들의 입소문을 타며 이름을 알렸고 연이어 두 번째 EP [All In The Value]로 본격적인 활동을 시작하면서 영국 공연계에서 주목받는 신인으로 소개되었다.

 

2015년 EP [Coastal Love]를 발매 전 공연 "Electrowerkz"가 매진을 기록해 화제가 되었고, 그룹의 첫 정규작 [Warm On A Cold Night]를 연이어 내놓았다. 이 앨범에서 스타일리쉬한 무드와 Izzy Bizu의 간드러지는 목소리와 몽환적인 사운드는 앨범 전체를 감싸며 독자적 사운드를 구축했고, 그룹의 음악적 색깔을 유감없이 드러내어 영국을 넘어 전 세계에서 주목받는 아티스트로 떠올랐다. 2015년 한 인터뷰에서 가장 공연하고 싶은 나라가 한국이라고 말한 HONNE는 2016년 11월 성공적인 내한공연을 치렀으며 이들의 히트 싱글 'Warm On A Cold Night'는 국내 한 침대 광고에 삽입되어 인지도를 높였다.

 

2018년 두 번째 정규 앨범 [Love Me / Love Me Not]을 발표해 각 트랙마다 낮(◑)과 밤(◐)을 나타내는 기호를 붙이며 연인들이 겪게 되는 사랑의 양면을 나른하면서도 우아한 멜로디 라인, 감각적인 사운드로 담아냈다. 2020년에는 정규작 [no song without you]를 발매, 실험적인 HONNE의 모습을 보여주었고 멤버 Andy Clutterbuck의 결혼식 이야기를 담은 타이틀곡 'no song without you'로 많은 사랑을 받았다.
