이매진 드래곤즈 (Imagine Dragons)-Lonely

미국 4인조 밴드 이매진 드래곤즈 (Imagine Dragons)는 국내 팬들에겐 "상상용"이란 애칭으로 더욱 유명한 팀이다. 2008년 라스베가스에서 결성된 이들은 에너지 넘치는 라이브 퍼포먼스로 로컬 신에서 꾸준히 인지도를 쌓아갔다.

 

2012년 오랜 준비 끝에 발표한 정규 1집 [Night Visions]가 큰 성공을 거두게 된다. 얼터너티브 록을 기반으로 일렉트로닉과 힙합, 포크 등 다양한 장르 블렌딩으로 완성한 데뷔작은 타이틀 곡 'It`s Time'을 필두로 'On Top Of The World', 'Demons' 등이 고른 호평을 받았다.

특히 앨범의 인트로를 장식한 'Radioactive'는 빌보드 싱글 차트에 장장 87주 동안이나 머물렀으며, 이듬해 열린 "그래미 어워드"에서 올해의 레코드와 최우수 록 퍼포먼스에 후보로 올라 퍼포먼스 부문에서 수상의 영광까지 거머쥐었다.

 

 

화려한 메이저 신고식을 치른 밴드는 이전까지 [Smoke + Mirrors], [EVOLVE] 등 총 3장의 스튜디오 정규작을 발표해 인기를 얻었다. 주요 트랙으로는 이들의 시그니처 사운드라 할 수 있는 댄서블한 비트와 깨끗한 기타톤으로 수놓은 'Shots', 러프한 포크록의 매력이 도드라진 'I Bet My Life'와 최근 국내 CF 배경음악으로 쓰인 'Thunder' 등을 꼽을 수 있다. 

우리나라에는 상암 월드컵 경기장에서 열린 "2014 리그오브레전드 월드챔피언십" 결승전 오프닝 공연과 2015년 단독 내한공연으로 음악 팬들을 찾은 바 있다.

  2018년 6월, 감성 DJ로 손꼽히는 Kygo와 합작으로 선보인 'Born To Be Yours'는 계절에 어울리는 청량한 트로피컬 하우스를 선사했다. 이어 11월에는 네 번째 스튜디오 앨범 [Origins]를 발표하며 팝 트렌드를 대표하는 동시에 기존의 틀을 깨는 재기발랄한 음악들을 들려주었다.
