공감과 위로의 재즈 캐롤 담은 노라 존스의 첫 크리스마스 앨범 [I Dream of Christmas] Come Away With Me(2002)로 큰 반향을 일으키며 데뷔한 이래 20년간 따스한위로의 음악을 들려주었던 노라 존스가 이번에는 크리스마스 캐롤로 우리를 찾아온다.

 

지난해 노라 존스는 코로나19로 인한 록다운으로 집에서 소박한 크리스마스를 보내다 이번앨범을 기획했다고 한다. [I Dream of Christmas]는 힘들었던 한 해를 떠나보내고, 편안하고 안락하게 크리스마스를 맞이하고 싶은 모든 이들에게 바치는 노라 존스의 선물이다.

수록곡 중 7곡은 노라 존스의 캐롤 자작곡으로, 블루지한목소리로 위로를 건네는 ‘You’re Not Alone’과‘Holiday With You’, 행복한 크리스마스를 원하는마음을 담은 ‘Christmas Calling (Jolly Jones) 등이 있다. 그 외 ‘Winter Wonderland’, ‘Christmas Time Is Here’, ‘What Are You Doing New Year’s Eve’ 등 언제나 사랑받는 캐롤 명곡도 담았다. ‘Christmas Don’t Be Late’, ‘Run Run Rudolph’ 등 밝고 경쾌한 곡도 빼놓지 않았다.

이번 앨범에는 레온 미셀이 색소폰 및 제작을 맡았으며 토니 쉐어(베이스) 브라이언 블레이드(드럼), 데이브가이(트럼펫) 등이 다시 한번 그녀와 호흡을 맞추었다.
