캐나다 출신의 팝 가수 Justin Bieber (저스틴 비버)는 캐나다에서 열린 노래 경연 대회에서 2위를 차지한후  2007년부터 어머니와 함께 유튜브에 노래하는 영상을 올리기 시작했다.

 

So So Def 레이블의 마케팅 담당자가 우연히 동영상을 접하게 되어 그와 Usher를 만나게 했고 우여곡절 끝에 아일랜드 레이블과 계약을 맺으면서 본격적인 음악 활동을 시작하게 된다. 2009년 데뷔 EP [My World]의 선공개 싱글 'One Time'은 발매된 지 30시간 만에 10개국의 각종 차트를 휩쓸었고 'One Less Lonely Girl', 'Love Me', 'Favorite Girl' 등이 연이어 라디오와 온라인에서 히트를 거두며 그를 유명 인사로 만들었다.
