Erin Lee는 캐나다 토론토 시내 한가운데서 버스킹을 하던 일본인 싱어송라이터 Daiki Tonda를 만나게 된다.

 

 

2007년, 그가 작곡한 음악에 반한 Erin이 영어로 가사를 붙여 노래했다. 2021년, 그의 세 곡을 Erin이 다시 불러 녹음했고, 뮤지션 BigDD의 새로운 보컬 편곡에 Daiki를 비롯한 당시 토론토에서 활동하던 일본, 터키 뮤지션들의 연주가 그대로 실렸다.

CAMEL(낙타)은 그 첫 곡이다. 이 곡은 2007년 Erin이 음악을 전공하기로 결심하고 꿈에 한 발짝 다가선 뒤 쓴 가사다. 여느 낙타와 다를 바 없이 주인이 시키는 대로 무거운 짐을 지고, 알지도 못하는 목적지를 향해 걷던 꿈 꾸는 낙타가 있었다. 다른 낙타들은 이 낙타를 두고 ‘한 번 잃으면 돌이킬 수 없는 도박을 꿈꾸는 바보’라고 했지만, 꿈꾸는 낙타는 ‘자신의 꿈을 묻어 두는 것이 바보'라는 말을 남긴 채 굴레를 끊고 자유를 선택한다. 꿈을 좇는 길에 지친 사람들에게 이 곡이 응원과 위로가 되길 바란다.
