미국의 가수 Pink(핑크)는 2000년 데뷔 앨범 [Can't Take Me Home]을 발매하면서 공식적으로 팝 음악 신에 등장해 앨범의 'There You Go'나 'Most Girls'가 히트를 쳤지만, 평론가들에게는 틴 팝, 또는 R&B 댄스 팝 정도로 치부되는 평가를 받았다.

 

그러나 바로 다음 앨범인 2집 [Missundaztood]가 선사한 임팩트는 과연 데뷔 앨범 때의 그가 맞나 싶을 정도의 일취월장이었다. Dallas Austin과 함께한 'Get The Party Started'라는 R&B 댄스 팝이지만 분명 2000년대를 대표할 완벽한 파티 뮤직이 탄생했고, 본격적으로 록 사운드를 받아들인 싱글 'Just Like A Pill'과 'Don't Let Me Get Me' 등을 통해 보컬리스트로서의 장점을 확실히 살려냈다.

전작들에 비해 3집 [Try This](2003)의 성과는 조금 초라했다. 싱글 히트곡 역시 'Trouble'과 'God Is A DJ'가 유독 미국 시장에서만 그리 큰 위력을 발휘하지 못했다. 그럼에도 음악적으로는 더욱 강해진 성장을 보여준 음반이었다. 제목부터 의미심장했던 4집 [I'm Not Dead](2006)는 잠시 상업적으로 주춤했던 그의 인기를 다시 불붙게 만들어준 음반으로, 록 사운드를 풀어가면서도 그 속에 그루브와 댄서블한 리듬감의 장점을 적절히 섞는 지혜를 보여준 작품이었다. 'Stupid Girls'와 'Who Knew'라는 롱런 히트 싱글들이 나왔고, 'U+Ur Hand'역시 톱 텐 히트를 기록했다. 
 
2008년 5집 [Funhouse]에서 생애 첫 1위 싱글인 'So What'을 탄생시켰다. 그가 커리어 내내 추구해왔었던 록의 에너지를 잃지 않고도 그 속에 전자음까지 녹여내면서 점점 댄서블한 음악을 요구하는 주류 라디오의 대중의 기호도 맞추는 기지를 발휘했다. 레이블 내의 구조조정으로 RCA로 이적하게 된 Pink는 거의 1년에 가까운 작업 끝에 2012년 9월에 6집 [The Truth About Love]로 팬들의 곁에 돌아왔다. 이후 스튜디오 앨범 [Hurts 2B Human], [All I Know So Far: Setlist], [TRUSTFALL] 등을 공개해 여전한 카리스마와 탄탄한 음악성을 과시하며 활발한 활동을 펼쳤다.
