타이틀 곡 ‘UTOPIA(유토피아)’를 통해 확장된 음악과 세계관을 선보일 예정

 

대한민국 대표 크로스오버 그룹 크로스오버계 아이돌, 팬텀싱어 시즌2 우승팀 포레스텔라 (Forestella). 2022년의 대미를 장식할 포레스텔라의 첫 싱글앨범 [The Bloom : UTOPIA] The Borders of Utopia

지난 5월 미니앨범으로 완성도 높은 음악과 탄탄한 세계관을 선보인 포레스텔라가 첫 싱글앨범으로 돌아왔다. 7개월 만에 돌아온 포레스텔라는 이번 싱글앨범으로 그들만의 음악적 색채와 신비로운 서사를 펼칠 예정이다.

 

 

타이틀곡 UTOPIA(유토피아)는 세계적인 음악 거장 발렌시아(Valensia)가 작사, 작곡, 편곡을 맡았다. 이번 트랙은 여러 장르가 조화를 이룬 음악으로 포레스텔라의 표현력과 서사의 확장을 도왔다. 포레스텔라는 작사에 참여하여 그들의 세계관을 담으며 음악적 완성도를 높였다.

네덜란드 출신 작곡가인 발렌시아는 클래식과 대중 음악을 접목한 음악 스타일로 일본과 유럽에서 밀리언셀러에 오르는 등 큰 사랑을 받는 뮤지션이다. 포레스텔라는 지난 앨범 무라마츠 타카츠구 음악감독과 작업한 미니 1집 타이틀곡 'Save our lives'(세이브 아워 라이브즈)에 이어 Valensia와 함께하여 지속적인 세계적인 거장들과 호흡으로 음악 팬들에게 또 한 번 짙은 감동을 전달한다.

1. Intro : Lotus
Lotus는 먹으면 모든 걱정이 사라지고 황홀해지는 상상의 열매이다. 씨앗이 움틀대며 싹이 트고, 꽃이 만개하며 신비롭고 궁금증이 가득한 열매가 맺히길 기다리는 서사를 알린다.
초반부의 신비로운 보이스패드(voice pad) 효과음과 돌체올라(dolceola)의 고전적이면서도 성스러운 분위기의 연주가 피아노 음색과 섞이면서 곡 제목처럼 신비한 열매를 표현한다. 상행하는 멜로디는 피어나는 꽃을, 하행하는 코드 진행은 만개하는 꽃이 떨어지는 느낌을 섬세하게 표현했다.

2. UTOPIA *Title
크로스오버 음악계의 거장인 발렌시아는 퀸(Queen)에 영향을 크게 받은 뮤지션으로 한 음악 안에서 오페라와 록, 오케스트라, 심포니, 뉴에이지 등 다양한 장르를 표현하는 유일무이한 뮤지션이다. UTOPIA(유토피아)는 포레스텔라의 앨범 타이틀곡을 위하여 작곡한 곡이다. 포레스텔라와 긴 시간 동안 컨셉부터 음악적인 소통을 통하여 창작된 곡이라 그 의미가 크다.

문화의 번영 속 우리가 살아가는 현대사회, 매년 커져만 가는 이상기후와 자연재해는 재앙이다.
인류가 갈망하는 유토피아, 하지만 자연에게는 디스토피아이지 않을까? 공존하기 어려운 유토피아와 디스토피아의 경계를 포레스텔라는 시공간을 뛰어넘으며 그 질문에 답을 찾으려 한다. 우리가 찾아야 하는 유토피아는 하나 임을, 그 본질을 찾아가는 과정임을 들려주며 꿈을 꾼다.

포레스텔라는 UTOPIA(유토피아)를 통해 국내 록오페라 장르의 새로운 패러다임을 제시한다. 오케스트레이션 사운드와 록 사운드의 절묘한 조화, 클래식 발성의 외연을 넓혀 다양한 가창의 테크닉을 담았다. 신비롭고 섬세한 화음 진행과 거칠고도 모험적인 포레스텔라의 음악적 표현은 시종일관 긴장감을 늦추지 않는다.
오케스트라와 함께 포레스텔라의 400여 개의 보컬 트랙이 만난 오페라 섹션은 가장 주목해야 할 파트이다. 포레스텔라와 발렌시아의 협업은 실험적이면서도 완성도 높은 큰 스케일을 리스너에게 선사하며 이들의 음악적 한계를 뛰어 넘는다.
