린킨 파크 (Linkin Park)-Faint

 미국의 록 밴드 LINKIN PARK (린킨 파크)는 1996년에 결성해 2000년에 데뷔 앨범 [Hybrid Theory]를 발표해 넘치는 에너지와 쉽게 기억되는 멜로디로 인기를 얻으며 세계적으로 2,700만 장의 판매고를 기록했다.

 

전작과 똑같은 앨범을 원하지 않았던 LINKIN PARK는 2003년에 발표한 [Meteora]에서 보다 정제되고 헤비 한 사운드를 선사했다. 이후 밴드는 무수히 많은 프로젝트 앨범, 라이브 앨범을 쉴새 없이 공개하며 왕성한 창작력과 활동력을 과시했다. Jaz-Z와 컬래버레이션을 진행한 [Collision Course](2004)는 EP인데도 빌보드 앨범 차트 1위에 올랐다.

2009년 영화 "트랜스포머" 속편의 주제가인 'New Divide'로 변화를 예고한 LINKIN PARK는 2010년 전체적인 흐름을 강조한 콘셉트 앨범 [A Thousand Suns]를 발표했다. 2012년에 발표한 [Living Things]에서도 전자음을 강조했고, 이는 미국 록 차트 1위에 오른 첫 싱글 'Burn It Down'에서도 확인할 수 있었다.

 

 

6집 앨범 [The Hunting Party]는 멤버들에게 음악적 영감을 제공한 1990년대 헤비메탈과 하드코어, 펑크 사운드를 재현했고, 래퍼 Rakim이 피처링한 첫 싱글 'Guilty All The Same'은 예상을 뛰어넘는 헤비함과 뛰어난 밸런스로 좋은 평가를 받았다.

2017년 5월, 일곱 번째 앨범 [One More Light]을 발매했으나 두 달 후인 7월 20일, 보컬 Chester Bennington이 자살로 갑작스럽게 세상을 떠나며 팬들과 멤버들 모두가 충격에 빠져야 했다. 11월, 밴드는 Bennington과의 마지막 투어 라이브 앨범인 [One More Light Live]를 공개했으며, "2017 아메리칸 뮤직 어워드"에서 Favorite Artist 상을 수상했다.
